bank on it

so we're switching banks.

literally EVERY person i know has told me to switch and its always been such a big hassle i've never done it, in 3 years!... but we're ready now. i'm pretty sure we know what one we're switching too, but id like to see if anyone really loves their bank and why...

just so no one tries to argue their case, we're leaving bank of america. satans bank.

I've been w/Wells Fargo for years. I do like it. I know several Farmers & Merchants fans, but they're not as convenient as WF. Good luck.

i hate that bank of america is so convenient because it makes me want to stay with them even though i've had issues. but really in the past 5 years that i've had them i've lived in orange county, CA; arlington, TX; boston, MA; providence, RI; and london, UK and they've always had a million locations or if they didn't, then they have certain other banks (like barclay's in the UK) where you can use that bank's ATMs without getting any fees. i hate feeling like i'm losing money on stupid ATM fees, so that's probably the only reason i've stayed with them. i'm interested to hear which other banks people love because maybe it will motivate me to switch too.

This one's obvious:

SESLOC (but you can pronounce it sezloc...kind of like salza.)

wamu all the way.
ive worked at a bank, theyre the best and most accomidating (notice i didnt say perfect). they have a million fancy little helpful products that have saved our life, AND they never charge you to use ANY atm terminal you need to. also, theyre on every corner. theyre online banking rules. hate to betray the local institutions, but theyre big for a reason...

i left bank of america after years...I had my first savings account with them when I was like six and then they just started charging for everything. I mean everything. deposits, withdrawls, talking to a person. I hate them.

We're with wamu (Washington Mutual) and I have to say, they're not the most educated in financial things (but that what a financial adviser or an accountant are for I guess) but they are always super nice and helpful and willing to give you a break if you say, overdraw your account or something. We like 'em.
The online banking is awesome and always free...in fact. Pretty much everything is free.

Otherwise. I'd go with a local credit union, we just haven't found one here that doesn't charge for everthing like satan's bank.

that's my 2 cents.

SESLOC. credit unions are the best seriously once you get an account there you will never want to step foot in a bank again. They are not only the best for no fees but they are way more sympathetic for loans and such for people with not the best credit. And to apply for a loan you have to be a member....just something to think about for the future.
